This weekend was super fun! We went up to our cabin and Showlow for the 4th of July celebration. I just love going up north and doing all the fun things the mountains have to offer. I live getting my kids out of the house and doing fun things, and hopefully making wonderful memories.
My Peak of this trip would be hard to choose. We had a lot of fun at the parade, playing kickball or riding quads. I also even got to sneek in a card game or two. It was a wonderful long weekend.
My pit was that Jacob had to work and he couldn't come with us. That's just one of the pit of a holiday falling in the middle of the week is daddy has to work the next day. We really missed his.
I never want to forget our quad adventure and the angel that saved Ethan. On Friday afternoon we headed to the Bradshaw cabin for some fun quad riding. Since our group was so large we took turns riding in quads I was in the last group. I had Liam on my lap, then their was Maddie Bradshaw, Marisa Brewer and Ethan. We started off with Steph in the lead (at the time I thought she was Marisa) then Ethan then the two girls following. Ethan had never road by himself before so he was going slower and was a little unsure of himself. He stopped to look back I assured him it was fine to go on. (the never part of this story happens in like 15 to 20 seconds, but will sound a lot longer when told) He turned around an not 3 seconds later his quad takes a sharp turn to the left and he his headed down a step hill headed right for a tree! I start screaming Stephanie's name thinking she is behind me and yelling help. I soon realize Ethan is going to hit the tree and the girls are behind me not stephanie. I have Liam on my lap I can't easily jump off or even leave a 3 year old on a running vehicle on a hill. This whole time I'm yelling help. I have come to the conclusion he is going to hit the tree and the next steps need to be just to get to him as soon a possible and deal with whatever injuries he may have. The next thing I know Ethan has turned left missed the tree and is drive down these rocks at the bottom of the hill. He finally stops and tells me he is okay. Other then loosing a shoe and getting pretty scared he was just fine.
My thoughts about this have I played over and over in my head. He was so close to that tree I a m positive of 2 things. He did not have the time or the strength to dodge the tree. No one including the girls saw him miss it. It is like there is this chunk of our memory that is gone. I have come to the conclusion that Ethan's gardian Angel was there watching over him. Honestly there is no other way he could have missed the tree.
Went on a wlak in just her diaper this evening. Lilly was so happy she kept kicking and Shrieking with joy.
This adorable kid may look like an orpharn but nope this dirty boy is mine. All mine!
Liam and I are done with our turn. We had a blast. As you can tell from the dirt on our face.
Chewing on sticks is exhasuting!
Liam is super excited for our turn!
Lilly is trying so hard to get some more teeth to join her one lonely tooth. her chew toy of choice is stick
Oh ya this is going down!
yes I'm so happy. It's been too long my friend.
Happy 4th of July from the Ash's. Wearing out red white and blue! Miss you daddy!
This boy looks worried because for about two minutes he was lost. Poor kid followed a float and got lost. It was a frightening two minutes.
Free hot dogs at the parade. Look at those faces. They think they died and went to heaven.
This girl loved her first parade. She talked played with a few friends and even managed to steal Carter's hot dog. Love this baby
After the parade I sat in stand still traffic for 45 minutes just for some Mexican food. I guess I'm related to Vickie Kartchner.(ps at least all the kiddos slept through it.
After gorging on Mexican food we decided to run some off playing kickball. Mother nature decided to turn a 180 on us and our sunny day turned into pouring rain...which didn't stop the children.
It cleared up so we had an intense game of kickball.
I'm in Showlow and I can't come to Showlow and not hit up DQ
Drove through Heber and saw this and thought...What the hail? Then I thought some people think this heat is hell so now I wonder...has hell frozen over?
